Congratulations to Jackson Bellard, Reno's newest private pilot! Jackson is a very motivated young man...He is a senior at Galena High School, relaxes by strumming on his banjo, teaches golf to little kids, and recently found out he earned a full ride scholarship to University of Texas, Austin, for four years in their aerospace engineering program. Jackson was in the running for the 40 Acres Scholarship with about 3,800 other students, interviewed and earned a place in 2024 cohort. But he is no stranger to scholarships, he has been able to complete most of his flight training on the EAA Tinker Murdock Family Scholarship. Jackson knows that his success is based on the effort he puts into things. He flew N495SP around Northern Nevada proficiently demonstrating the skills his instructor Levi Mellows taught him. Jackson landed and was welcomed by his parents and a congratulating banner. Awesome job Jackson!! “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” Jackson’s next goal is instrument and he is already asking how to get started. No stopping this guy! Congratulations to both Jackson and Levi!!
