This Memorial Day we honor and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. "A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself." -Joseph Campbell  Congratulations to Wynne Allen for flying her solo flight today at KRTS on runway 26 and 32. Wynne is an incredible lady. She can only fly one or two times a week and flew her solo flight at just 15 hours today!! Congratulations to her and her instructor Danny Britson. "You only live once. You might as well be a badass!" 👩✈️  What is better than one new private pilot today...two new private pilots!! Congratulations to Josh Bunker on earning his Private Pilot License today!! Josh has thousands of hours serving our Country flying Chinooks and wanted to give fixed wing a try. Now he is determined to achieve his airplane CFI/II! He was coached by Deb and Stephen on how to make the transition from large rotorcraft to small single engine aircraft. Quickly learned you can't hover in a C172 :) We are so excited for Josh and his success and look forward to congratulating him when he quickly earns his next rating. Awesome job Josh!!  Congratulations to Owen (Gino) Galassini for passing his Private Pilot Checkride this morning!! Owen has been working on and off with Bob Bennett the last couple of years as he juggled full time work and full time UNR. But, he never gave up and stayed committed to this goal. "Decide, commit, succeed." Awesome job Owen!  Congratulations to Roger Peralta for flying his first solo flight this morning in N37JA, Runway 26 at Stead (KRTS)!! Flying solo for the first time is a fantastic achievement and Roger should feel extremely proud. Pictured below is Roger with his Instructor Emmett who is so pleased with the progress Roger is making!! We are so excited to watch him as he continues down the path to his Private Pilot! Congratulations again Roger!  Congratulations to Ryan McMaster who passed his Commercial checkride this morning. We would also like to thank his Flight Instructors, Emmett and Dane for coaching Ryan to this success. It has been exciting to watch him as he has progressed from Private Pilot and now onto CFI. Fantastic Job Ryan!  Congratulations to Kyle Beach!! Northern Nevada's newest Private Pilot. Kyle started flying when he was 12 in Oregon and has been working hard and dreaming of this day since. "One day reality will be better than your dreams." Today is that day Kyle!!  |
