The smiley, weekend line tech warrior, Andy Glenn, is all the talk of the town this morning… and I’m not sure if it’s just us, but it looks like he’s walking with just a little extra pep in his step? I mean, what newly soloed pilot wouldn’t! That’s right everyone, Andy Glenn officially gained some cool points this morning by soling N670CS at KRTS on runway 26! Beating the afternoon winds, Andy came in calm and ready, and after inspecting the landing gear of CS, there appeared to be a sufficient amount of butter on them upon his return (😉). When Andy’s not working hard at GBA, fearing for his life in the office (ask about his fear of snakes…), or being ogled at by his instructor, Nathan Morin, at the gym (kidding… but maybe not), you can find Andy playing lacrosse at Manogue, golfing, hunting, and fishing. All jokes aside, huge congratulations to Andy and his partner in crime, Nathan, on this wonderful success! That checkride is just on the horizon!

Join us in celebrating the incredible achievement of Jennifer Carey, who has just soared to new heights with her solo flight at KSPZ! Flying solo in N495SP on runway 06, Jennifer has demonstrated her exceptional skills and unwavering determination, proving that with passion and perseverance, anything is possible! Despite facing some challenging weather conditions this winter and now spring, Jennifer's resilience and dedication have propelled her towards this remarkable milestone. But Jennifer's talents extend far beyond the cockpit – when she's not navigating the skies, she's tearing up the racetrack as a drag racer, leading Washoe County 4H clubs, and excelling in her career as a surgical nurse. Managing a bustling household complete with kids and farm animals is all in a day's work for this multitasking dynamo! Jennifer, your accomplishments inspire us all, and you serve as a shining example of what can be achieved through hard work and determination. Great job as well to Jennifer’s CFI, Nathan Morin, whose guidance and support have been instrumental in her journey to solo flight success!
Today, we're raising our steins to celebrate another wunderbar milestone in Jurgen Hirt’s flying adventure: He just earned his instrument rating! Besides his full-time studies at UNR, work, and his passion for playing the Bassoon in the UNR Orchestra and Reno Philharmonic, Jurgen works hard and powers through his flight ratings and certificates. What's the secret ingredient behind Jurgen's success? Well, maybe it's his lucky number 18! He soloed on the 18th of the month, got his private pilot's license on the 18th of the month, and now his instrument rating on the 18th of the month! It seems like the number 18 brings Glück to his fliegende Reise!! Plus, he is motivated and focused on his studies. Jurgen, you're a true Vogel and an inspiration to us all! We look forward to many more exciting flying adventures with you. Herzlichen Glückwunsch zu dieser beeindruckenden Leistung! Big shoutout as well to Jurgen's CFII Ryan Mill for guiding him through the skies with expertise and skill!
Today, we're throwing confetti (figuratively, of course, Hailey hates messes) for none other than Shane McAlister, the newest member of the "Triple Threat" club: instrument-rated pilot, GBA line tech extraordinaire, and undisputed champion of sandwich consumption! Despite his busy schedule of charming customers on the ramp and racing against time to scarf down two sandwiches in one sitting, Shane somehow managed to conquer the clouds and earn his instrument rating. Talk about multitasking! So, the next time you see Shane zipping around the hangar or making miracles happen on the ramp, be sure to give him a pat on the back (or maybe just a high-five, we don't want to interrupt his sandwich feast). Major kudos to Shane's CFII, Ryan Mill, for guiding him through the clouds and beyond! Stay tuned, you will be hearing more about Shane very soon as he is on the fast track for his commercial certificate and then CFI!
We've got a tooth-tastic announcement! Tim Adams, our fearless student pilot and full-time endodontist, has just soared through his first solo flight, reaching new altitudes! Despite weather setbacks, Tim finally caught a break with calm skies for his solo flight debut. Flying solo in KRTS aboard N495SP on runway 08, Tim's dedication and determination have truly paid off, proving once again that he's not afraid to face challenges head-on! As an Army veteran and dental pro, Tim's no stranger to tough situations. Just like he expertly navigates tricky root canals, he's conquered the skies with confidence. With his ground school and knowledge test already conquered, Tim's flight training was turbocharged, even amidst those pesky weather cancellations. Tim, keep soaring high and showing those clouds who's boss! Your aviation dreams are taking flight, and we couldn't be happier for you! Huge kudos to Tim's CFIs Danny Britson and Ryan Mill for their expert guidance and support throughout this thrilling journey. Let's give them a round of applause!
