A few young aviation enthusiasts stopped by today with their grandparents and got to see some airplanes take off and land as they were looking at a GBA plane. The kids all want to be pilots when they grow up and one even wants to take it a step further and be an astronaut. " Dream big little ones. The sky is not your limit."
We are so excited for Connor Mannix and his next adventure! Today he flew his last flight as a civilian pilot here at Great Basin Aviation. He is heading off to Navy OCS on March 24th. It was so special to see him share this memory with his Mom as they got to enjoy a smooth Tahoe scenic flight. Now on to the next incredible step in his military and aviation career! Thank you for being a mentor and inspiration to many pilots here at Great Basin Aviation. "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." - John Quincy Adams
14 year-old Jazmyn took her Discovery Flight with Danny today! She was all smiles when she got back and is definitely hooked! Her proud Dad was able to tag-a-long in the back seat and watch and listen as his daughter flew them around Reno. A great first lesson! Every expert was once a beginner.
Finally a beautiful morning to fly! Justin is taking full advantage of this break in the weather and heading out on his solo cross country to Lovelock.
When we finally have good weather great things happen...Congratulations to Chris Simpson on passing his Instrument Checkride today in N752DW! Chris has been working relentlessly on his Instrument Rating with his instructor Al Hayes. The harder you work for something, the greater you'll feel when you achieve it. Great job Chris!
Congratulations to Mike Evans on completing his flight review! Mike took a brief 24 year break from aviation and recently went through rusty pilot training and it all came right back, like riding a bike. We are so happy for Mike!! 🎉 "Lovers of aviation never visit the sky, they return to it."
