    Congratulations to Kevin Marshall who earned his PPL today!! Kevin crushed this checkride in less time than he expected this morning in Truckee. He proved he is an exceptional pilot with the challenging terrain and airport environment that Truckee offers. Awesome job to Kevin and his instructor, Emmett!! Let the adventures begin! ​

    Another new licensed pilot in the sky!!

    And another PPL today! Congratulations to Christopher Steimle for earning his PPL this afternoon in N37JA. Christopher has been working on his license on and off over the last few years. In the spring, he set a goal to earn his PPL and today, that goal was achieved! Another varying terrain checkride as Christopher traveled to Truckee, Tahoe, Minden, and Fernley. Way to go! You worked hard, displayed much patience, and earned your wings! Awesome job on your achievement!! This is your reward for all the hard work you put in. Congratulations as well to his instructor Matt Bowers!

    Reno's Newest CFI!

    Great Basin Aviation is so proud of newly licensed CFI Nik Joshi for passing his instructor checkride yesterday evening! Nik will now begin his flight instructor career here at Great Basin Aviation in between his Nevada Air National Guard duties. It has been inspiring to witness his hard work as he went through this huge goal. We can now bring him on board and we truly wish him the very best! Check the schedule soon for his availability. Another huge congratulations to CFI/II Danny Britson for his instruction and training of Nik. We are so impressed with both of you!

    New Commercial Pilot!!

    Today we congratulate the area’s newest Commercial Pilot, Josh Bunker, on successfully completing his checkride! Yes, this name might sound familiar...It was just a few weeks ago that Josh earned his Instrument Rating. Talk about unstoppable!! A little progress each day adds up to big results. Plus, he got to check out gorgeous Lake Tahoe as he navigated his way over the ridge with his instructor Nick. He shared this joy with his brother in the back seat. Check out that smile!     Saturday Solo!!

    Congratulations to Mariah Connell who soloed in N328ME at KRTS, Runway 8 today! She completed her first three solo take-offs and landings in a very busy pattern while her instructor, Danny Britson, watched from the sidelines.
