    Twining over Reno

What??? Two Petersons in one plane! Newly certificated private pilot, Bryce Peterson, took his twin brother Evan for a flight this morning. Guess which one is the pilot? Taking your family/friends flying is a well-earned reward for the hard work and time one puts into your flight training. Plus, as you can see, it is a lot of fun ✈️

    Bryce is a Private Pilot!

He’s having such a good time, he’s having a ball, and no one can stop him now! Bryce Peterson, known for having luscious hair on par with Brian May is officially a Private Pilot! Up at the wee hours this morning, Bryce took to the skies in N495SP, to prove to his examiner he’s got what it takes to man the left-seat… and to no shock at all, he certainly does! Bryce is not only an amazing pilot, but also an amazing student, working hard at UNR to get a degree in information systems, this smarty proves to be awe-inspiring day by day. Fun fact about Bryce, he has a twin brother who actually got him interested in aviation, and with his new-found wings, he plans to take his brother for his first flight! Who knows, we may have another Peterson getting their PPL very soon 😉. We look forward to the days of seeing this kind soul as an airline captain, but for now, let’s celebrate this quintessential first step! Congratulations to Bryce Peterson on this amazing milestone and his now departed instructor, Ethan Chinowsky, keep it up!!

    Ryan mastered the foggles!!

Someone took the day off from wakeboarding to earn his instrument rating! That’s right, no Fakies or Bunny-Hops for Ryan Mill today, his complete focus was on navigating N752DW while under the foggles. Ryan grasped the rigorous 141 curriculum and showed the examiner he has all the right stuff to fly in less than ideal visual flight conditions. A little warm and bumpy up there but that did not stop this boarder from successful checkride completion. Ryan is a go-getter and on course to have his commercial certificate within a few months. We will let him take a little break (the rest of today) then back at it tomorrow :) Awesome job to Ryan and his CFII Kurtis Hornung!

    May Pilot of the Month!

⭐️LUCAS MURPHY⭐️Lucas, our May pilot of the month, is one of the hardest working pilots we have at GBA. All of his hard work has not gone unnoticed.

He is constantly early to his flights and is fully prepared to attack the flight ahead. Work ethic from South Dakota is what Lucas brings every day, whether it’s at his every day work life at Amazon or on his flight days where he is exploring Nevada.

Congrats Lucas, and keep pushing towards that license!

    Memorial Day

We can never repay, but we will ever respect, those who gave their lives for our freedom. We salute our fallen and give thanks on this Memorial Day.

    David is a CFI!!

“Dance dads don’t dance, they finance.” Spoken proudly from today’s newly Certified Flight Instructor, David Lynn! That’s right, C-130 Air Guard pilot and local dance dad decided to put away some funds for himself this time and can now train the aviators of the future. With a natural passion for instilling aviation in others, this Checkride for David was a piece of cake, all in time to beat the afternoon winds. If being a C-130 pilot and amazing dad wasn’t enough, this new rating is sure to prove how incredible David Lynn is and we’re incredibly excited to see what he does with this new rating. Congratulations to David Lynn and his instructor, Danny Britson on this amazing accomplishment!
