    New CFI!

Northern Nevada has a new CFI! Dominic Puntoriero dominated the sky in N421RW today teaching the examiner a thing or two. And what a beautiful day to fly this tough checkride! Dominic is no stranger to success. His aviation journey started when he was young when he soloed a helicopter at 16. He went on to earn his rotorcraft commercial certificate and all his fixed wing ratings up to CFI. Calling Dominic a go-getter is an understatement. He sets his mind to something and gets it done. Earning his CFI today is just another example. Huge congratulations to Dominic on this awesome achievement! Great job as well to his CFI Danny Britson!

    Reno's newest Commercial Pilot!

James Morgan can now exercise the privileges under 61.133!! If that makes no sense, it means he is now a Commercial Pilot! This pilot extraordinaire took the examiner through some chandelles, lazy 8s, power off 180, even some spiraling steep turns and then greased it back into KRNO and heard the words we all want to hear, “congratulations!” James is an incredible aviator, hard worker, and always has a smile on his face. He has been part of GBA for a couple years and it has been awesome watching him progress. James is heading to the hill tomorrow to celebrate by shredding some pow-pow. If no broken bones, next step is CFI. Awesome job to James and his CFI Danny Britson!

    Max soloed!!

What does a mortgage specialist and a student pilot with solo flight time in his logbook have in common? We don’t know either, but Max Collins soloed today and that’s all that really matters! He blasted off (as much as a C172 can blast off) into an empty left hand Stead traffic pattern for runway 08, making all the right calls and all the best landings. Max consistently shows dedication to his flight training by arriving at least 30 minutes early to each lesson, fully prepared and ready to learn! This mortgage guy would like to explore a change in scenery while trading his desk for the inside of a cockpit.  His goal is to become a Commercial pilot and we are certain he will achieve his dreams! Congratulations to Max and his CFI Cody Lucero!

Noreen is a big deal :)

Noreen Leary, office admin extraordinaire, was recognized last night at the Westmoreland Chapter Association of the United States Army dinner. If you didn’t know, beautiful Noreen spent over 20 years as the CEO of the Veterans Guest House. Her efforts created an incredible home away from home for our Veterans when they were/are in town receiving medical care. From just a few beds to 33, Noreen poured her heart and soul into the Veterans Guest House and the needs of our service members. This recognition is greatly deserved as well as a million more thanks for all of her hard work. Now retired from the Guest House, we are lucky to have Noreen as part of the GBA team every Thursday. Next time you see her say hi and congratulations! Or bring her a bottle of single malt scotch😉

    Greg is a Private Pilot!

Hair comes trouble…Pilot of the month, solo, and now private pilot! Greg Anthenien, our favorite long, luscious locks aviator earned his private pilot certificate today in N37JA! This mane man flew with confidence performing all the maneuvers with ease. He has been pre-hairing for this day and it showed. Brushed his nerves away and gave it a curl and look what happened…he walked away with a certificate in hand. Greg has one of the most positive attitudes out there and he main-tained it throughout his training. A few little knots and snags along the way, but today that is behind him and he can move forward flying in hair-money. We mustache what Greg will do next. Well, word is he is going to celebrate then gel right into his instrument training as he continues to pursue a career in aviation. Greg is definitely a cut above the rest. Huge congratulations to Greg and his CFIs Chazz Sandoval and Richard Brong!
