Below is the information for the class. Please reach out ASAP if you are interested in attending as space is limited and classes will fill on a first-come, first-served basis.
    • Instrument - $400, 6 weeks every Tuesday and Thursday night starting on January 11th. Books included. This class also requires electronic charts. Basic Foreflight subscription is all that is needed for chart access. Contact GBA for details.

All classes will be held at Atlantic Aviation. Active participation, attendance, and studying are key for class success. Successful completion of either ground school course satisfies the requirement needed in order to be eligible to take the FAA Knowledge Exam.

If you are looking for Private Pilot in person ground school, the TMCC course will begin on 1/25. That course also runs 2 nights a week. Contact Richard Brong for more information. He is the instructor for that course. All registration is through TMCC as it is a credited course but Richard can help with your questions. This too is an incredible opportunity to satisfy a ground school requirement in a lectured based class.

Please reach out asap to secure your spot in the Instrument class! We look forward to helping you reach your aviation goals.

    New Year's Private Pilot!!

If it is snowing really hard, you can be sure to find an accountant hiding under a tax shelter (yes, it will be one of those announcements😉). But not today…one of our favorite number guys, Andrew Spanier, proved he could be “audit" he could be and took to the sky to demonstrate he has the calculated skills to be a private pilot. Andrew has been working on his certificate for a the sum of a few years. Progressing as he completed college and entered the exciting world of numbers. A few months ago, this tax-manian devil said “account me in” and set a goal to finish up his private pilot flight training. He worked with CFI Jack Darlington to finish his training up and look now, Andrew is the LIFO the flight school! Awesome job to Andrew and Jack! You guys are like accounts receivable to GBA - outstanding!

    Christmas Solo!

What a great day to fly… and an even better day to solo!!! With the question of go or no-go in mind, the freezing fog finally cleared out of the KRNO valley and Trisha Pylkas, fellow aviatrix and Sierra Battle Born officer, buttered N752DW successfully onto runway 26 at KRTS, all while her instructor, Troy Ware, watched from the sidelines!! (Just in time to beat the upcoming storm this week) Trisha is an incredibly hard-working individual, a Girl Scout at heart, and drives a pretty swanky Mini Cooper, which automatically gives her points in Hailey’s book. All in all, what an incredible accomplishment, next step is getting that PPL! Congratulations again to Trisha and her instructors, Danny and Troy!!

    Sean is a commercial pilot!

Talk about dreams taking flight...It was just a few months ago you read about Sean Meeks earning his instrument rating. Well, his name is in the headlines again because this cool pilot now holds a commercial certificate!! Sean showed he has superior knowledge and insights into the airplane, weather, and the FAA’s rules and regulations. Even though his flight was crazy bumpy because of the incoming storm, he still demonstrated smooth and precise control of the airplane throughout the commercial maneuvers in his favorite plane, the Princess, N2291C. Sean’s next step is to begin his second career and be a CFI which, based on his past record, he will earn in no time. Huge congratulations to Sean and his CFI Danny Britson! Take a little break Sean, then hit the books tomorrow :)
